HDD Foreman (Horizontal Directional Drilling)
Overview
Lead horizontal directional drilling operations across the DFW metro GAC Enterprises LLC Houston, Texas. You will be the primary field leader on assigned bores, reading prints, evaluating locates, organizing your crew, and maintaining safety while delivering clean on-time on-spec work.
What You'll Do9
- 1Plan and run daily HDD activity including complex bore planning, setup, drilling, pullback, potholing, and restoration
- 2Lead, train, and develop HDD crew while setting standards for accountability and professionalism
- 3Conduct daily toolbox talks and JHAs, set production goals, and enforce safety standards
- 4Read and interpret prints, utility plans, permits, and locates to coordinate with stakeholders
- 5Identify problems early and solve them in the field to ensure timely delivery
- 6Enforce OSHA and GAC safety standards and maintain equipment in safe ready condition
- 7Approve timecards, complete production reports, and submit field documentation accurately
- 8Coach crew members on operation, cleaning, fueling, and securing company equipment
- 9Maintain accurate records and support a zero-incident workplace culture
Requirements11
- 15+ years leading HDD crews as a foreman in underground utility construction
- 2Background in fiber telecom or underground utility construction
- 3Proven track record developing and leading field crews
- 4Strong command of construction prints, utility locates, and project specifications
- 5Excellent leadership communication and problem-solving skills
- 6Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- 7Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
- 8Preferred experience with Vermeer and Ditch Witch HDD equipment
- 9Preferred gas or power construction vacuum excavation utility locating experience
- 10CDL with a plus
