Hardware Verification Engineer, Avionics DO-254 DO-160
Overview
Own hardware verification and qualification for avionics display programs at scale across multiple programs. You will plan and execute DO-254 and DO-160 based V&V activities for display processors, display units, and HUD hardware in obsolescence-driven environments. You will collaborate with hardware, systems, and software teams across sites to verify NVIS and NVIS configurations and deliver certified artifacts. This role combines hands-on testing with requirements-based verification to accelerate production and delivery.
What You'll Do10
- 1Develop DO-254 based verification plans, procedures, and test cases
- 2Execute hardware V&V and qualification testing for display processors, display units, HUD hardware, and PBAs
- 3Verify NVIS-compatible and non-NVIS configurations including backlight, luminance, and I/O interfaces
- 4Support environmental and EMI/EMC qualification testing per DO-160
- 5Perform delta-qualification and re-verification for obsolescence driven changes
- 6Troubleshoot, debug, and perform root-cause analysis of hardware issues
- 7Generate verification results, test reports, and DO-254 artifacts for milestones
- 8Collaborate with design, systems, and software teams to close verification gaps
- 9Support production flow and legacy display supply and test issues
- 10Communicate status and risks to program leadership and meet accelerated timelines
Requirements10
- 110+ years of hardware V&V / test engineering in aerospace or avionics
- 2Requirements-based verification and test procedure development
- 3Working knowledge of DO-254
- 4Working knowledge of RTCA DO-160 test methods
- 5Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills with standard lab equipment
- 6Solid understanding of digital and analog circuit fundamentals and signal integrity
- 7Ability to read schematics and derive tests from hardware requirements
- 8U.S. citizenship or permanent residency for export control ITAR
- 9Experience with NVIS compatibility testing and photometric measurement (preferred)
- 10Experience with obsolescence-driven redesign and delta-qualification (preferred)
Salary Insight
$150 - $165k per year
