Fpga Team Lead, FPGA design & verification in aerospace
Overview
Own FPGA design and verification for mission critical systems at scale across aerospace, defense, space, and medical devices. Lead a small team, drive technical direction, and deliver with DO-254 and DO-178C compliant firmware. Collaborate with hardware, software, and systems teams to ensure robust integration and certification readiness. This role blends hands-on development with leadership to ensure timely, high quality delivery.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and lead FPGA design, simulation, and integration activities for instrumentation and control electronic systems.
- 2Own design documentation including specifications, requirements, and traceability for FPGA projects.
- 3Drive debugging and root cause analysis of FPGA design or verification issues to resolution.
- 4Lead FPGA design flow activities including synthesis, timing analysis, and test support.
- 5Coordinate informal and formal test campaigns for FPGA and hardware products.
- 6Provide engineering simulations and related software used in developing I C electronic systems.
- 7Provide technical leadership and day to day coordination for FPGA and hardware engineers.
- 8Translate program requirements into actionable engineering tasks and monitor delivery commitments.
- 9Mentor engineers, remove roadblocks, and ensure cross functional alignment across lifecycle
- 10Communicate progress, risks, and mitigation plans to program management and stakeholders.
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor`s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 210+ years in FPGA design, verification, digital hardware development, or related work
- 32+ years leading a small technical team or coordinating sprint execution
- 4Hands on experience with FPGA design and verification using VHDL or UVM
- 5Working knowledge of requirements, design and integration documentation for hardware lifecycles
- 6Experience supporting formal or informal test campaigns for hardware or FPGA
- 7Ability to troubleshoot FPGA hardware integration issues through simulation and lab
- 8U.S. citizenship or permanent residency and willingness to travel 10-15%
- 9Strong communication and collaboration across cross functional teams
- 10Experience in safety critical or regulated engineering environments

$166 - $187k per year
