What You'll Do8
- 1Perform residential repairs across carpentry, drywall, painting, plumbing, and electrical using tools like drills, saws, and multimeters.
- 2Install and configure smart home devices such as thermostats, doorbells, and locks, ensuring WiFi connectivity and app setup.
- 3Serve as the primary handyman for 40-50 homes, responding to service requests and preventive maintenance within the territory.
- 4Diagnose issues in fixtures, outlets, and pipes, applying troubleshooting skills to fix problems on the first visit.
- 5Use the Honey Homes app to track job status, log tasks, and communicate with homeowners and dispatch.
- 6Deliver professional customer service, explaining repairs and offering maintenance tips to build trust.
- 7Maintain a clean work area, including proper paint lines, caulking, and dust containment, per company standards.
- 8Manage your weekly schedule to complete 8-10 jobs per day, prioritizing urgent repairs and minimizing drive time.
Requirements9
- 15+ years of hands-on experience in multi-trade handyman work, including carpentry, plumbing, and electrical.
- 2Proven ability to patch drywall, paint, replace fixtures, and install smart devices with precision.
- 3Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for residential systems and structures.
- 4Comfort working at heights up to 12 feet on ladders and scaffolding, lifting up to 50 pounds.
- 5Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and personal tools for each trade (e.g., cordless drill, pipe wrench, voltage tester).
- 6Excellent communication and customer service skills for interacting with homeowners.
- 7Experience with job tracking apps or scheduling software is a plus.
- 8Availability Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm, with no weekend or on-call work.
- 9High school diploma or equivalent; trade school certification or apprenticeship is preferred.
