Guest Engagement Representative at Griffin Museum of Science and Industry
Overview
You will own the guest journey at the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry, the largest science museum in the Western Hemisphere. You will engage thousands of visitors daily, from ticketing and wayfinding to field trip coordination. You will join a collaborative team of Guest Experience professionals and support Giant Dome Theater operations. This part-time role includes weekend and evening shifts, plus benefits from day one.
What You'll Do9
- 1Greet and escort guests, delivering enthusiastic and helpful service while promoting exhibits and experiences.
- 2Manage ticketing, membership sales, and transactions on the museum's ticketing system, handling cash and credit cards accurately.
- 3Support Giant Dome Theater screenings, ensuring smooth operations and guest safety.
- 4Facilitate field trip groups through the Group Center, including onboarding, lunchroom management, and registration processing.
- 5Provide wayfinding and amenity services: coat check, wheelchair and stroller rentals, lost and found, and map restocking.
- 6Assist with parking garage operations, including hardware checks and ticket stock inventory.
- 7Collaborate with the team to create upselling strategies for memberships and multi-attraction passes.
- 8Serve as a lead in special events or operational positions when needed, supporting GER Certified Trainers with stanchion setup.
- 9Maintain inventory of supplies and troubleshoot ticket kiosks to uphold museum show quality.
Requirements10
- 1High school diploma or GED and 1-3 years of customer-facing experience, engaging with guests of all ages.
- 2Availability to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and commit to a regular schedule including Tuesdays.
- 3Enthusiasm for science and education, with ability to work in large crowds.
- 4Strong interpersonal and communication skills to uncover guest expectations and resolve issues.
- 5Proven customer service, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
- 6Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment.
- 7Knowledge of cash management principles and procedures.
- 8Proficient computer skills and comfort with learning new software and hardware, including handheld devices.
- 9Physical ability to stand for up to 3 hours, lift up to 25 pounds, and move across the museum campus.
- 10Ability to read and interpret training guides and procedure manuals in English.
