Overview
You own on-site delivery for grocery store renovations across NV and AZ as Retail Construction Superintendent. You run night shifts, coordinate refrigeration protection, and keep stores operational through phased remodels. You lead a team of subcontractors and report directly to the client's operations lead. This role demands grocery remodel expertise and comfort with city, county, and health department inspections.
What You'll Do10
- 1Lead on-site crews through phased grocery remodels, maintaining store operations during construction.
- 2Coordinate refrigeration systems protection and tie-ins with mechanical contractors to avoid spoilage.
- 3Manage daily schedule, subcontractor performance, and safety compliance on every project.
- 4Communicate progress and issues to the client's store manager and regional director, setting clear expectations.
- 5Inspect work against city, county, and health department codes, correcting deficiencies before final approval.
- 6Drive night-time shift execution, including unloading fixtures and stocking materials after store close.
- 7Track material deliveries and coordinate with procurement to prevent delays.
- 8Protect existing store inventory and equipment from dust and damage using plastic sheeting and tape.
- 9Document daily reports with photos and update project status in Procore for remote team review.
- 10Resolve on-site conflicts between trades and store staff, keeping the schedule on track.
Requirements10
- 15+ years of construction supervision experience, specifically with grocery or retail remodels.
- 2Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and auto insurance coverage.
- 3Availability for night-time shift work and flexible scheduling across NV and AZ projects.
- 4Knowledge of refrigeration system coordination and protection during construction.
- 5Experience with phased construction planning and maintaining store operations.
- 6Familiarity with city, county, and health department inspection processes.
- 7OSHA 30 certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- 8Procore or similar project management software proficiency.
- 9Strong communication and client relationship skills, with a proactive approach.
