Traveling Construction Superintendent oversees field operations and coordinates subcontractors for a leading retail general contractor across California and the western U.S. The role involves managing projects valued at $5M+ while ensuring safety quality and profitability. This position requires a hands-on leader with expertise in retail construction remodels hospitality fuel stations and fast‑food builds.
What You'll Do18
- 1Manage and direct all job site activities from startup through completion
- 2Coordinate and supervise subcontractors vendors and field personnel to meet safety efficiency and specification goals
- 3Lead daily jobsite meetings with clients subcontractors inspectors and project teams
- 4Monitor project schedules and proactively address timeline or budget issues
- 5Oversee projects valued at $5M+ while maintaining quality safety and profitability
- 6Step into existing projects to assume full leadership responsibilities
- 7Review construction plans specifications and project documents daily
- 8Conduct regular site walks to verify progress quality and coordinate upcoming work
- 9Create submit and track RFIs and change orders
- 10Coordinate inspections and ensure compliance with local building codes
- 11Enforce company and OSHA safety standards conduct safety meetings and train subcontractors
- 12Utilize Procore to document progress and maintain project records
- 13Submit daily reports and communicate updates to the project management team
- 14Maintain accurate documentation of schedules RFIs inspections change orders and milestones
- 15Lead and motivate subcontractors and field teams to achieve project success
- 16Possess strong organizational problem solving and decision making abilities
- 17Hold subcontractors accountable for adherence to safety procedures and regulations
- 18Travel extensively including overnight stays as required
Requirements11
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 23-5 seasons experience in retail construction hospitality fuel stations open store remodels or fast food projects
- 35+ years constructing ETL pipelines using Spark and Airflow
- 4California Driver’s License with clean driving record
- 5Reliable transportation required
- 6OSHA 10 certification preferred
- 7CPR certification preferred
- 8Background check clearance
- 9Ability to lift 50 pounds
- 10Physical stamina to stand walk kneel bend climb and perform construction related tasks
- 11Willingness to travel extensively including overnight stays
Salary Insight
$80 - $165k per year
