GNC Simulation Software Engineer, Aerospace
Overview
You will own the design and analysis of GNC algorithms and simulations for aerospace vehicles, spanning 6-DOF modeling and high-fidelity dynamic systems. Collaborate with embedded software teams to integrate and verify functionality on HIL systems, while driving Monte Carlo analyses and sensitivity studies for robust performance. Build and maintain simulation architecture and analysis tools using C++, Python, and Matlab or Simulink. This role demands deep aerospace domain expertise and 5+ years of experience in a field that directly impacts flight software quality.
What You'll Do8
- 1Design and implement GNC algorithms and simulations for aerospace vehicles using C++ and Python.
- 2Maintain and develop analysis tools, regression test scenarios, Monte Carlo framework, and simulation architecture.
- 3Perform 6-DOF modeling, simulation, and performance analysis to evaluate system behavior under nominal and off-nominal conditions.
- 4Build high-fidelity dynamic models of vehicles, sensors, actuators, and environmental models in Simulink and GUNNS.
- 5Conduct Monte Carlo analyses and sensitivity studies to validate robustness and reliability.
- 6Validate simulation models against test data and engineering expectations.
- 7Collaborate with embedded software teams to integrate, test, and verify GNC functionality on hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) systems.
- 8Support the development of requirements, interface definitions, and verification plans for flight software.
Requirements8
- 15+ years of software engineering experience, with a focus on simulation or flight software.
- 25+ years in the aerospace industry, specifically with flight vehicles.
- 3Proficiency in C++ and Python programming for simulation development.
- 4Experience with NASA GUNNS and TRICK simulation software.
- 5Experience with Simulink for modeling and simulation.
- 6Proven ability to perform 6-DOF modeling and simulation.
- 7Experience with Monte Carlo analysis and sensitivity studies.
- 8Familiarity with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) integration and testing.
