Overview

Design and develop software for advanced flight simulators supporting multiple aircraft platforms, including avionics, tactical environments, and interfaces to audio, visual, motion, and I/O systems. Work across full lifecycle in Linux and Windows using C++ and FORTRAN. Collaborate with a team of 12-15 engineers on modeling, simulation, and training solutions. What You'll Do8

  • 1Design and integrate software for flight simulators, covering C++, FORTRAN, and Visual Studio interfaces.
  • 2Implement and maintain Instructor Operator Stations (IOS) software for simulator operation and training.
  • 3Support full lifecycle development from requirements analysis to testing in Linux and Windows environments.
  • 4Develop complex applications such as external system interfaces and aircraft simulations with minimal supervision.
  • 5Architect software components within larger systems, including interfaces and models of aircraft components.
  • 6Prepare detailed documentation for design reviews and present designs to customers using Visual Studio tools.
  • 7Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integrated, high-quality simulation solutions.
  • 8Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes.

Requirements8

  • 1Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
  • 25+ years of software engineering experience.
  • 3C++ proficiency with a focus on simulation and modeling.
  • 4FORTRAN or similar legacy language experience in simulation environments.
  • 5Visual Studio IDE proficiency for development and debugging.
  • 6GCC compilers and Makefiles for building in Linux and UNIX.
  • 7Strong experience in Linux and UNIX environments with Windows familiarity.
  • 8Eligibility to obtain a security clearance; active or prior Secret clearance preferred.
