Senior Simulator Project Engineer | GA-ASI UAS Solutions
Overview
You will own UAS Simulator solutions from concept to delivery, defining requirements and directing technical teams to meet customer training needs. You'll work with Python, C++, and Unity to build realistic sensor and flight models for remotely piloted aircraft. The role sits within GA-ASI's engineering team, collaborating with software and hardware groups across the program. What You'll Do8
- 1Develop UAS Simulator solutions by translating customer training requirements into system architectures and performance specs.
- 2Troubleshoot and resolve complex engineering issues in simulation systems using Python and C++ debugging tools.
- 3Direct designers and technicians in implementing simulator features, ensuring schedule and quality targets.
- 4Lead technical reviews with customers to validate simulator functionality and gather feedback for iterative improvements.
- 5Document system designs and test results, presenting findings at engineering milestones.
- 6Coordinate with cross-functional teams to integrate Unity-based visual systems into the simulation environment.
- 7Mentor junior engineers on simulation best practices and system engineering principles.
- 8Ensure compliance with DoD security requirements and maintain confidentiality of program data.
Requirements8
- 16+ years of engineering experience with a bachelor's degree, or 4+ years with a master's, or 2+ years with a PhD in engineering or related technical field.
- 2Thorough understanding of engineering concepts and simulation theory, with demonstrated application in complex projects.
- 3Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
- 4Proficiency in Python and C++ for simulation development.
- 5Experience with Unity and C# for real-time 3D visualization.
- 6Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and presentations.
- 7Proven ability to lead a team of engineers, designers, and technicians.
- 8Willingness to work extended hours and travel up to 25% as required.
