GL Accountant
Overview
Join our team for a 2-month contract assignment to maintain accurate financial records and support month-end close activities. This onsite role works efficiently within established processes to ensure timely financial reporting.
What You'll Do8
- 1Maintain the accuracy of the general ledger by recording daily accounting activity and verifying that financial data remains complete and current
- 2Prepare recurring financial reports such as income statements balance sheets cash flow summaries and budget-related documentation
- 3Process monthly close entries and perform reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and profit and loss statements
- 4Calculate and monitor depreciation using the straight-line method to support accurate fixed asset accounting
- 5Review budget-to-actual results post general ledger updates and identify notable variances that may affect forecasts
- 6Examine variance reports for completeness and accuracy ensuring supporting explanations align with reported results
- 7Monitor accounts receivable activity confirm payments are applied correctly and investigate discrepancies in account balances
- 8Follow established accounting procedures and internal controls to deliver timely reliable work across routine financial tasks
Requirements7
- 13-5 years of accounting experience with real estate industry exposure preferred
- 2Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- 3Working knowledge of general ledger accounting month-end close reconciliations and financial statement preparation
- 4Experience analyzing variances supporting budget processes and reviewing financial data for accuracy
- 5Familiarity with accounts receivable tracking and payment posting
- 6Proficiency with basic computer applications and standard accounting systems
- 7MRI experience is a plus
