GIS Architect, AI/LLM & Enterprise GIS in Utilities
Overview
Own the design and implementation of enterprise GIS architectures at scale for Energy & Utilities environments. Lead integration of Esri ArcGIS Enterprise across on‑prem and cloud, and guide security, DR, and business continuity. Partner with stakeholders and technology teams to deliver spatial data solutions and automation.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and lead Enterprise GIS architectures including ArcGIS Server, Portal, ArcGIS Online, and Enterprise Geodatabases in hybrid environments
- 2Design hybrid cloud and on‑prem GIS solutions using AWS or Azure or similar platforms
- 3Integrate GIS platforms with utility operations and enterprise systems to enable data‑driven decision making
- 4Provide technical leadership for GIS infrastructure, security, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning
- 5Develop and support spatial databases using PostgreSQL/PostGIS or Oracle or SQL Server and expose data via APIs
- 6Automate integration and solution development using Python and JavaScript with REST APIs
- 7Collaborate with stakeholders, vendors, and enterprise architecture teams to align solutions with governance
- 8Mentor teams on implementation best practices and architectural standards
- 9Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture governance and SDLC processes
- 10Stay current with AI/LLM capabilities and evaluate applicability to GIS workloads
Requirements10
- 18+ years designing and implementing enterprise GIS architectures and solutions
- 2Experience supporting electric, gas, water, or renewable utility operations
- 3Experience with Esri ArcGIS Enterprise and utility mapping solutions
- 4Experience with hybrid cloud GIS deployments and enterprise system integration
- 5Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
- 6Strong consulting, communication, and leadership skills
- 7Experience with Windows/Linux, networking, load balancing, storage, and security
- 8Experience with Python, JavaScript, REST APIs, and automation
- 9Excellent English communication skills
- 10Nice to Have: AI/LLM or enterprise AI experience and cloud‑based AI/ML platforms
