General Service Technician, Tire & Auto Repair
Overview
You will own tire service, brake, and suspension work at a busy shop with 10+ bays and 30+ daily appointments. You'll join a team of 6-10 techs and report to the Service Manager. The role offers ASE reimbursement and clear promotion paths to Mechanic, Service Advisor, or Management.
What You'll Do10
- 1Mount, dismount, balance, and rotate tires on passenger and light truck vehicles.
- 2Repair flats, perform oil changes, and replace filters to keep cars running smoothly.
- 3Conduct courtesy inspections and document findings for customers.
- 4Test and install batteries, ensuring proper voltage and connection.
- 5Diagnose and perform brake jobs, including disc, drum, and lathe work.
- 6Handle suspension repairs, including struts, shocks, and control arms.
- 7Perform wheel alignments and steering system repairs to spec.
- 8Replace under-hood components such as water pumps, alternators, and radiators.
- 9Stock inventory and maintain shop cleanliness and safety standards.
- 10Work as a team to deliver fast, accurate, elite service during peak hours.
Requirements6
- 11-3 years of professional automotive service experience in tires, oil, brakes, suspension, or alignments.
- 2Hands-on ability with preventative maintenance and light mechanical work.
- 3Valid driver's license with a clean record and ability to lift 70 lbs.
- 4Problem-solver with strong attention to detail.
- 5Motivated to grow and thrive in a fast-paced shop.
- 6Flexible schedule with weekend availability to support team during peak business hours.
