Overview
As General Manager of Miss Toya's Southern Kitchen, you will own the full lifecycle of opening a new restaurant in Owings Mills, MD, from pre-opening through ongoing operations. You'll build and lead the entire team, establish the culture, and drive financial and operational results. Partnering with culinary leadership and Miskiri Hospitality Group support, you'll ensure the restaurant opens prepared for success. This role stands apart for its focus on creating a lasting leadership foundation for a growing restaurant group.
What You'll Do12
- 1Lead pre-opening preparation and operational readiness to ensure a smooth launch.
- 2Recruit, hire, onboard, and train the opening team in partnership with HR.
- 3Build a strong leadership team across front and back of house.
- 4Establish a positive, accountable, and hospitality-focused culture from day one.
- 5Drive sales, manage labor and food costs, and control expenses to meet financial targets.
- 6Coach and hold managers and team members accountable for performance and standards.
- 7Implement action plans based on performance reviews and financial results.
- 8Oversee scheduling to align with sales forecasts and labor targets.
- 9Maintain consistent food quality, service, and cleanliness standards.
- 10Partner with culinary leadership to ensure kitchen execution and food cost goals are met.
- 11Monitor guest feedback and respond promptly to maintain high satisfaction.

Requirements10
- 15+ years as a General Manager in full-service restaurants.
- 2Proven experience opening a new restaurant or leading a launch.
- 3Strong track record in recruiting, developing, and retaining high-performing teams.
- 4Solid grasp of financial metrics: sales, labor, food cost, and budgets.
- 5Ability to analyze data and implement improvements that boost results.
- 6Deep experience with front and back of house operations.
- 7Passion for hospitality and creating exceptional guest experiences.
- 8Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service.
- 9Hands-on experience with Toast and HotSchedules is a plus.
- 10ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain it.
