General Laborer, Recycling & Outdoor Work
Overview
You will own general clean-up across production yards and grinding sites for the nation's largest contract grinding company, Austin Wood Recycling. Join a family-owned team since 1987 that recycles organic material into premium Texas Native products. You'll report to the Construction Services Supervisor, work outdoors, and operate equipment like skid steers and tractors. This role focuses on safety, quality, and growth, with training provided for equipment. You'll contribute to sustainable land-clearing practices while gaining experience in a supportive environment.
What You'll Do7
- 1Perform general clean-up duties across production and grinding field sites
- 2Operate skid steers, tractors, lawn mowers, and weed-eaters safely (training provided)
- 3Conduct basic equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
- 4Report all accidents and injuries immediately, regardless of severity
- 5Follow standard operating procedures for clean-up tasks
- 6Wear required safety gear at all times: safety toe shoes, vest, hard hat, and gloves
- 7Assume additional duties as assigned by management
Requirements10
- 1Ability to work 60+ hours per week including Saturdays with overtime
- 2Skid steer, tractor, and mower experience preferred
- 3Bilingual preferred
- 4Must pass drug screen
- 5Lift up to 70lbs frequently with repetitive motion
- 6Stand for long periods and walk for short periods
- 7Bend and stoop throughout the day (lifting debris, using shovels)
- 8Climb and descend stairs and ladders
- 9Work outdoors in heat, cold, dust, and noise
- 10Travel to different job locations
