GenAI Lead - RAG & Python
Overview
You own the delivery of enterprise-grade GenAI solutions for a leading client in New York City, working onsite 3 days per week. You architect and deploy RAG systems using Python, LangChain, and LangGraph, leading a cross-functional team of engineers and data scientists. This contract role demands deep technical expertise and hands-on leadership, with a clear mandate to drive innovation from day one.
What You'll Do8
- 1Design and implement RAG pipelines using Python and LangChain to power production AI applications.
- 2Architect multi-agent workflows with LangGraph, ensuring reliable state management and tool orchestration.
- 3Own the technical roadmap for GenAI initiatives, translating client requirements into scalable solutions.
- 4Lead code reviews and pair programming sessions to raise engineering standards across the team.
- 5Debug and resolve performance bottlenecks in inference and retrieval systems.
- 6Collaborate with data scientists to evaluate model outputs and iterate on prompt strategies.
- 7Build reusable components for knowledge retrieval, chunking, and embedding management.
- 8Drive integration of GenAI services with existing client data platforms and APIs.
Requirements7
- 15+ years in AI/ML or data science roles, with hands-on experience in RAG and generative models.
- 2Production experience with Python and LangChain for building LLM applications.
- 3Strong familiarity with LangGraph for orchestrating complex agent workflows.
- 4Proven track record of leading technical projects in consulting or client-facing environments.
- 5Expertise in deploying models on cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerized environments.
- 6Deep understanding of vector databases, embedding models, and retrieval-augmented generation design patterns.
- 7Excellent communication skills, with ability to explain technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.
