Fund Accountant Associate, Private Equity - Dallas
Overview
You will own the monthly and quarterly accounting and reporting cycles for private equity investment funds at Goldman Sachs, managing fund-level net asset values and investor capital statements. You will work within the Controllers division, a team of specialists charged with managing the firm's liquidity, capital, and risk. Collaborating with colleagues across Dallas, you will ensure accurate financial control and reporting obligations. This role stands out for its direct impact on the firm's success and exposure to complex investment structures.
What You'll Do8
- 1Prepare monthly and quarterly accounting and reporting packages, including fund-level net asset values and investor capital statements for private equity investment funds.
- 2Complete ad hoc reporting requests, management fee analysis, and cash flow analysis for internal and external clients.
- 3Book journal entries for daily cash activity, investment transactions, currency exchanges, swap settings, debt payments, fund expenses, and investor contributions and distributions.
- 4Execute period-end close transactions, including mark-to-market valuation, foreign currency adjustments, and accruals.
- 5Assist with client audits and financial reporting requests, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- 6Reconcile accounts and analyze financial data to ensure alignment with fund documentation and GAAP standards.
- 7Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and control within the fund accounting workflow.
- 8Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and support the overall reporting cycle.
Requirements8
- 14-7 years of accounting experience, with public accounting preferred.
- 2Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- 3Strong accounting background, including booking journal entries, account reconciliation, and account analysis.
- 4Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas and data manipulation.
- 5Basic understanding of debt and equity investments, private equity funds, and partnership accounting.
- 6Exposure to accounting for foreign currency transactions and general ledger experience.
- 7Effective communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- 8Proven track record meeting deadlines without exception.
