Front Office Receptionist, Healthcare & Customer Service in Dermatology
Overview
The Front Office Receptionist will own patient registration and insurance verification at a multi state dermatology network with 150+ locations. You will support physicians and patients with accurate data entry, scheduling, and scheduling coordination in our Practice Management System. This role emphasizes exceptional customer service, confidentiality, and efficient front desk operations in a healthcare setting.
What You'll Do10
- 1Greet patients and visitors in person or by phone and address inquiries
- 2Record patient arrival and create new patient accounts in the EMR if needed
- 3Prepare necessary patient paperwork before appointments
- 4Reschedule no shows and document updates in the Practice Management System
- 5Schedule appointments to optimize satisfaction and provider time
- 6Assist in emergency situations with good judgment and patient safety in mind
- 7Verify insurance eligibility, payer sources, and financial status
- 8Determine if prior authorization is required and notify Billing Department
- 9Maintain a clean and organized reception area and collect copays or balances
- 10Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with policies and procedures

- 1High School Diploma required
- 2Associates Degree preferred
- 31 year of customer service experience in a health care office preferred
