Front Desk Receptionist, Dermatology Office
Overview
You will own front desk operations for a high-volume dermatology practice, managing patient flow from check-in to check-out. You'll coordinate schedules for multiple providers, handle multi-line phones, and process insurance verifications. Backed by a supportive supervisor and a busy, friendly team, you'll ensure smooth daily operations. This role offers variety and direct patient interaction in a professional medical setting.
What You'll Do9
- 1Greet patients warmly and check them in and out using EMR systems
- 2Update patient demographics and insurance information in real time
- 3Verify referrals and authorizations for services before appointments
- 4Manage multi-line phone system, routing calls and taking messages efficiently
- 5Process payments for copays and cosmetic procedures with accuracy
- 6Schedule appointments and procedures for multiple providers, managing high-volume calendars
- 7Scan and attach documents to patient charts, maintaining organized medical records
- 8Process faxes and referrals, routing them to appropriate staff
- 9Perform data entry and other administrative tasks as needed
Requirements9
- 1High School Diploma or GED
- 2EMR experience preferred, with knowledge of HIPAA compliance
- 31-2 years front desk or medical office experience
- 4Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- 5Typing speed of 80 wpm or higher
- 6Strong verbal and written communication skills
- 7Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- 8Basic math skills for payment processing
- 9Knowledge of insurance verification and referrals preferred
