Front Desk Associate, Fitness Club & Member Experience
Overview
You are the face of Retro Fitness Hackensack, greeting members at the front desk and setting the tone for every visit. You'll own the check-in process, resolve member issues, and drive membership sales at a high-traffic gym in Manhattan. Working with a tight-knit team of managers and front desk staff, you'll ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. This role demands a positive, upbeat personality and the ability to multitask in a fast-moving setting, with opportunities to grow into a membership advisor.
What You'll Do7
- 1Greet and check in members as they arrive, creating a welcoming first impression.
- 2Resolve member issues promptly and tactfully, escalating to managers when needed.
- 3Drive membership sales by following up with prospects and converting leads.
- 4Sell in-store items like Retro Blends Smoothies, Cooler Drinks, and Pro Shop merchandise.
- 5Maintain a safe, clean environment for members and staff, completing opening and closing checklists.
- 6Handle opening and closing duties, including securing the facility and counting cash after closing.
- 7Complete Retro University training courses and apply company policies daily.
Requirements7
- 1Positive, upbeat personality with a passion for fitness and helping others.
- 2Strong communication skills to interact with customers, coworkers, and managers.
- 3Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy environment.
- 4Customer service oriented with a focus on member satisfaction.
- 5Punctual and responsible with attention to detail.
- 6CPR/AED training preferred; prior retail sales experience a plus.
- 7Must have reliable transportation and availability for day shifts.
