What You'll Do9

  • 1Establish and maintain foreign patent files by opening files and preparing paperwork for filing including specifications claims abstracts and drawings
  • 2Prepare cover letters to foreign associates detailing instructions for filing applications
  • 3Review incoming correspondence from foreign associates for essential docketing and non-substantive responses
  • 4Provide ongoing verbal and written communication with foreign associates and attorneys during filing and prosecution
  • 5Assist attorney in procedural aspects of prosecution
  • 6Maintain and update foreign filing dockets
  • 7Establish relationships with attorneys and staff
  • 8Prepare estimates of filing prosecution and maintenance costs
  • 9Perform other tasks and projects as assigned

Requirements7

  • 1BA degree and paralegal certificate or equivalent experience with 3 years on-the-job experience with U.S. prosecution filing
  • 2Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under attorney supervision
  • 3Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks under time constraints
  • 4Interpersonal skills for effective communication with diverse groups
  • 5Capacity to handle mental effort and stress while managing multiple cases
  • 6Willingness to exceed 37.5 hours weekly for essential duties
  • 7Regular attendance required
