Overview
You will own floor refinishing projects for Wright Floors LLC in Detroit, Michigan. This contract role focuses on wood floor and tile surfaces, serving residential and commercial clients. You will operate buffers, sanders, and stripping equipment daily. Your first 90 days will center on delivering defect-free finishes that meet client specifications. This role suits technicians with a clean driving record and hands-on experience in janitorial or tile work.
What You'll Do8
- 1Safely operate buffers, sanders, and industrial vacuums to refinish wood and tile floors.
- 2Apply stain, sealer, and finish coats to achieve uniform color and gloss.
- 3Inspect surfaces for scratches, dents, or moisture damage before beginning work.
- 4Set up and remove floor protection materials, including taping and plastic sheeting.
- 5Perform routine maintenance on equipment, such as pad replacement and brush cleaning.
- 6Coordinate with the project manager to align on daily site access and work zones.
- 7Document completed work using a mobile app, including photo proof of final results.
- 8Report supply inventory needs to the warehouse team to avoid material delays.
Requirements7
- 12+ years of experience in floor refinishing, janitorial, or tile work.
- 2Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no major violations in the last 3 years).
- 3Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for prolonged periods.
- 4Comfortable using power tools and chemical strippers.
- 5High school diploma or equivalent.
- 6Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet project deadlines.
- 7Own reliable transportation to and from job sites in the Detroit area.
