Fleet Maintenance Technician, Field Role in Waste Services
Overview
Fleet maintenance on trucks and trailers in a field role with up to 50% travel across markets. Own inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance using Fleetio and Samsara while in the field. What You'll Do8
- 1Build and perform inspections and repairs on trucks and trailers including brakes electrical lighting and structural components
- 2Track maintenance using Fleetio and document inspections and repairs while in the field
- 3Install and troubleshoot GPS units Samsara and ensure safety equipment is functioning
- 4Coordinate with operations to schedule maintenance and drive vehicles to repair shops when needed
- 5Travel to fleet locations across markets up to 50% and maintain preventive maintenance program
- 6Support recalls and ensure DOT compliance with fleet managers
- 7Assist in diagnosing and fixing vehicle issues with minimal guidance
- 8Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs for compliance and reporting
Requirements10
- 1High School Diploma or GED
- 2Valid Driver's License with clean driving record and ability to pass MVR
- 3Ability to travel up to 50% of the time in a field role
- 4Hands-on experience repairing and maintaining trucks trailers or fleet vehicles
- 5Comfort with documenting inspections and repairs in fleet software Fleetio
- 6Comfort using GPS tracking units Samsara
- 7Ability to pass DOT medical certification and pre-employment drug screening
- 8Detail oriented self-starter able to work independently
- 9Experience with trailer repairs including brakes electrical and structural
- 10ASE certifications or similar credentials are a plus
