What You'll Do11
- 1Maintain the fixed asset subledger/register ensuring accurate recording of asset additions transfers and disposals
- 2Assign proper asset classifications useful lives and depreciation methods in accordance with company policy and GAAP
- 3Reconcile the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger on a monthly basis
- 4Review capital expenditure requests and invoices to determine proper capitalization versus expensing
- 5Work with project managers procurement and leadership teams to track Construction in Progress and capitalize projects upon completion
- 6Calculate and record monthly depreciation and amortization entries maintain right-of-use assets and lease liability schedules
- 7Calculate gain loss on disposal and ensure proper journal entries
- 8Ensure reliable monthly depreciation and reconciliations on a consistent schedule
- 9Collaborate across functions to partner with project managers and procurement on CIP tracking
- 10Apply analytical skills to evaluate capitalization versus expensing judgment calls
- 11Deliver accurate financial reporting aligned with organizational goals
Requirements8
- 1Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
- 22-4 years of accounting experience including fixed asset or capital accounting
- 3Working knowledge of US GAAP capitalization rules and depreciation methods
- 4Experience with fixed asset subledger systems and monthly reconciliations
- 5Preferred experience with lease accounting standards ASC 842 and ROU asset tracking
- 6Exposure to Construction in Progress accounting
- 7ERP fixed asset module experience such as NetSuite SAP or Oracle
- 8Attention to detail cross-functional collaboration analytical skills reliability
