Firmware Test Engineer, Embedded Linux & Wireless Networking
Overview
Own firmware testing across embedded Linux user and kernel space at scale. Collaborate with firmware engineers, build and execute manual and automated test plans for RF, WiFi, Bluetooth, and networking protocols. Contribute to CI/CD and nightly regression, driving reliability across product lines. This role is onsite in Alpharetta, GA and offers growth in a global energy management solutions company.
What You'll Do5
- 1Build and maintain automated test scripts for firmware using Python and Robot Framework to enable nightly regression coverage
- 2Design, execute, and document tests for IPv4, IPv6, TCP/IP, UDP, Ethernet and PPP in both user and kernel space
- 3Own validation of RF, WiFi, and Bluetooth wireless subsystems across device configurations
- 4Scale the automation framework for multiple product lines and ensure reliability across the CI/CD pipeline
- 5Triage failures from nightly builds, perform root-cause analysis, and provide actionable remediation guidance
Requirements5
- 1Hands-on experience testing embedded Linux systems in user and kernel space
- 2Proven testing experience with wireless protocols RF WiFi or Bluetooth
- 3Strong scripting skills in Python and/or Bash for test automation
- 4Experience with Robot Framework for structured test automation
- 5Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines or nightly regression systems
