Overview

Applications Engineer II supports installation programming commissioning troubleshooting and closeout of fire security and communications systems. Provides technical field support assists with project execution and ensures quality accuracy and timely completion. Requires current license or credential authorizing work in relevant states.

What You'll Do13

  • 1Serve as technical resource for NSG’s fire security and communications system offerings
  • 2Perform system programming troubleshooting testing commissioning and related field services on assigned projects
  • 3Support project execution and assist in moving assigned work through completion and closeout
  • 4Develop and maintain technical reference materials and manufacturer information for field use
  • 5Provide field coordination and direction to electricians and installers during installation programming commissioning and closeout activities
  • 6Communicate project progress job status and outstanding items requiring completion
  • 7Maintain current manufacturer software and applicable updates required to perform job duties
  • 8Maintain and obtain licenses and credentials required for the role including applicable Massachusetts licensure requirements
  • 9Review project documents and provide feedback to engineering or estimating staff to support project planning and execution
  • 10Survey existing systems and assist in determining appropriate approaches for retrofit and upgrade work
  • 11Maintain and develop proficiency across NSG’s fire security and communications product offerings
  • 12Demonstrate competence in systems knowledge programming troubleshooting testing and commissioning
  • 13Participate in company sponsored training and professional development relevant to the position

Requirements10

  • 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
  • 23-5 seasons of experience in fire alarm electronic security low voltage communications electrical or integrated systems
  • 3Massachusetts: D License or B License
  • 4Rhode Island: BF License or applicable Rhode Island Electrician License
  • 5Ability to read and interpret project documents drawings specifications and system documentation
  • 6Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • 7Ability to work independently and as part of a project team
  • 8Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally to customers and project sites
  • 9Physical and work requirements include standing walking climbing ladders bending and lifting tools or equipment with or without reasonable accommodation
  • 10Experience with fire alarm security low voltage communications electrical or integrated systems
