Leading AI research labs seek a Finance Expert to evaluate finance knowledge work and AI outputs at scale within a Bay Area contract role. You will craft instruction specs, design finance tasks, and collaborate with researchers to raise model performance. This role blends finance expertise with hands-on AI evaluation and requires on-site presence in the Bay Area.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build finance evaluation sets and golden solutions for financial problems to guide model alignment
- 2Design challenging finance tasks reflecting practical work and measurable outcomes within 90 days
- 3Evaluate the quality of finance knowledge work tasks and AI outputs to identify gaps and flawed assumptions
- 4Collaborate with client researchers and specialists to maintain consistent standards across projects
- 5Translate tacit financial judgment into explicit evaluation criteria and documentation
- 6Write high quality instruction specs and tooling to support scalable evaluation
- 7Work independently and asynchronously to improve AI model performance
- 8Define new finance tasks reflecting evolving industry practices
- 9Develop finance-specific skills and tools with the research team
- 10Ensure on-site collaboration in Bay Area as required by project needs
Requirements10
- 15+ years of professional finance experience at a recognized institution
- 2Specialization in corporate finance, investment banking, or asset management
- 3Progression to a senior individual-contributor or leadership level
- 4MBA, MS, or PhD in finance or related field and/or CFA, CPA, or FRM
- 5Hands-on experience with large language models
- 6Commitment to 40 hours/week for an initial 6-month engagement
- 7Reside in the Bay Area, California and available for on-site work as needed
- 8Excellent written communication skills
- 9On-site availability for Bay Area requirements
- 10Ability to work independently and asynchronously
