What You'll Do10

  • 1Build client relationships with owners, developers, agencies, contractors, subcontractors and internal departments to drive project success
  • 2Lead the department by implementing strategic direction and ensuring alignment with federal, state, and local surveying laws and procedures
  • 3Oversee proposals, contracts, and project financials to ensure profitability and timely delivery
  • 4Demonstrate advanced knowledge of survey control, construction staking, and jobsite safety for field staff
  • 5Apply coordinate geometry, CAD, and survey calculations to prepare topographical maps and design surveys for new and existing construction
  • 6Mentor and manage staff in boundary surveys, construction staking, and other survey tasks
  • 7Ensure field crew daily work diaries, QA procedures, cut sheets, and weekly timesheets are completed
  • 8Utilize AutoCAD and Civil 3D to support field and office workflows
  • 9Coordinate with GPS/GNSS equipment and field survey operations
  • 10Lead survey department management and project oversight to deliver high-quality survey data

Requirements10

  • 1Minimum of ten (10) years of land survey experience plus an A.S. or B.S. in land surveying or equivalent (twelve (12) years of experience)
  • 2Ability to obtain California Land Surveyor Registration within 180 days or currently hold licensure (PLS preferred)
  • 3Demonstrated leadership and ability to manage a survey department and staff
  • 4Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • 5Proficiency with Civil 3D and AutoCAD
  • 6Experience with Word, Excel, Civil 3D and supporting field and office software and equipment
  • 7Strong independent decision-making and collaboration with department staff
  • 8Experience with survey control, construction staking, and jobsite safety for survey field staff
  • 9Proven track record in project management, budgeting, and client-facing communications
  • 10Current or aspiring to LSIT or PLS designation and license readiness in California
