Field Manager, Commercial Construction & Federal Projects
Overview
You will own field operations for multiple concurrent commercial, federal, and government construction projects across the U.S., with travel to sites in Leemore, CA; Las Vegas, NV; or Cedar Creek, AZ. You coordinate with clients like federal agencies, school districts, and commercial owners to deliver on schedule and budget. You mentor site staff and subcontractors, enforce OSHA and EM-385-1-1 safety standards, and manage quality control from pre-construction to turnover. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in long-term travel roles with housing provided, backed by a firm with 30+ years of complex project expertise.
What You'll Do10
- 1Direct day-to-day field operations for multiple projects, ensuring schedule and budget targets are met.
- 2Coordinate with federal, school, and commercial clients to align scope, schedule, and site requirements.
- 3Mentor field personnel and subcontractors, assigning tasks and enforcing accountability.
- 4Oversee quality control for HVAC, structural, and finishing work against contract specs.
- 5Enforce OSHA and federal safety protocols, including EM-385-1-1 compliance.
- 6Maintain daily reports, change orders, RFIs, punch lists, and progress photos.
- 7Monitor project budgets and labor costs, adjusting resource allocation to protect profitability.
- 8Conduct site inspections and pre-construction assessments for hangars, schools, and government facilities.
- 9Coordinate site access and logistics to minimize disruption in operational environments.
- 10Support commissioning, final inspections, and client walkthroughs for smooth turnover.
Requirements8
- 12+ years of hands-on field management or construction superintendent experience.
- 2Proven track record managing commercial, federal, or government construction or renovation projects.
- 3HVAC installation and maintenance knowledge strongly preferred.
- 4EM-385-1-1 Site Safety and Health Officer or USACE Quality Control Management certifications a plus.
- 5Strong grasp of construction methods, OSHA regulations, and quality control procedures.
- 6Excellent leadership and client-facing communication skills.
- 7Proficient with project documentation tools and construction management software.
- 8Valid driver's license and ability to travel long-term and work on-site at remote locations.
Salary Insight
