Fence Installer Laborer Fortress Solar Projects
Overview
We seek a skilled safety-conscious Fence Installer to join our construction team for large-scale solar energy projects. This role ensures site security and regulatory compliance through fencing installations. The position involves installing perimeter and substation fencing according to project specifications and safety standards.
What You'll Do11
- 1Install chain-link and game fencing per project drawings and NEC/AHJ requirements
- 2Set terminal brace and line posts using concrete footings or driven methods
- 3Assemble and hang gates with tamper-proof hardware and padlocks
- 4Read and interpret blueprints site plans and fencing specifications
- 5Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently
- 6Perform site preparation including clearing vegetation and marking post locations
- 7Install signage at required intervals per code and owner requirements
- 8Maintain daily logs of installed footage using digital platforms
- 9Comply with OSHA and site-specific safety protocols including PPE use
- 10Participate in daily pre-job briefings
- 11Drive trucks to job sites and transport equipment
Requirements7
- 1Minimum 1–2 years fence installation experience on utility-scale projects
- 2Familiarity with ASTM F1043 Class 1C and SSPWC standards
- 3Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods
- 4Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- 5OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred
- 6Bilingual English Spanish communication skills
- 7Knowledge of grounding requirements and electrical safety near substations
