What You'll Do7
- 1Interpret face-to-face for Farsi and Persian speakers during medical and social service appointments
- 2Choose your own assignments from a pool of requests available 24/7/365
- 3Navigate diverse settings like hospitals, clinics, and community agencies
- 4Deliver accurate interpretation in real time, ensuring both parties understand each other
- 5Manage your own schedule as an independent contractor
- 6Complete assignments during business hours or off-hours as you prefer
- 7Communicate with the Access 2 Interpreters team via email and applicant tracking system
Requirements8
- 1Reside in the Central Ohio area (Columbus and surrounding counties)
- 2Hold a High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3Be eligible to work in the United States
- 4Pass a Federal Criminal Background Check (fingerprints) and a 10-panel drug screening (at no cost)
- 5Provide proof of program completion from an accredited interpreter training of 40+ hours (e.g., Bridging the Gap, Access Academy, or a certificate/degree in interpretation)
- 6Provide Certification of Bilingual Proficiency or complete a 3rd Party Bilingual Fluency Evaluation through an accredited organization
- 7Speak English and Farsi/Persian fluently
- 8No previous professional interpretation experience required; ESL speakers welcome
