Facilities Engineer San Diego | Flex
Overview
You will design, modify, and develop facilities, testing, machines, equipment, or processes used in manufacturing at a cGMP facility in Tijuana, Mexico. You will research specifications, define feasibility, and guide projects from concept to completion. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will apply engineering values to optimize plant infrastructure, including clean rooms, RO/DI water systems, and compressed gas distribution. This role stands out for its hands-on involvement in MEP construction and FRACAS analysis within a leading diversified manufacturer.
What You'll Do10
- 1Define designs for facility products or equipment by researching specifications and performance requirements to ensure manufacturability.
- 2Evaluate feasibility of new plant equipment or modifications, considering cost, space, time, and company planning.
- 3Provide technical facilities information on manufacturing techniques and materials to support long-range plant planning.
- 4Compile research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment.
- 5Study engineering publications to track technical changes and developments.
- 6Use computer-assisted engineering and design software, including AutoCAD or SolidWorks, to complete engineering tasks.
- 7Guide projects and project teams through all phases, ensuring alignment with cGMP standards.
- 8Drive root cause analysis using FRACAS methodology to resolve utility and equipment failures.
- 9Coordinate with cross-functional teams on MEP systems, including electrical, mechanical, and process piping.
- 10Support construction activities for clean rooms, walk-in coolers, and RO/DI water systems.
Requirements7
- 1Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
- 2Advanced English proficiency.
- 3Expertise in clean rooms, Walk-in Coolers & Freezers, RO/DI water systems, Waste Neutralization, compressed gas distribution, vacuum systems, and process chillers.
- 4Experience with manufacturing plant construction in a cGMP industry, preferably Medical Devices or Pharma.
- 5Knowledge of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Process) disciplines.
- 6Familiarity with FRACAS (Fault/Root Cause Analysis) methodology.
- 7Understanding of utilities such as steam, cooling media, heating media, water systems, and compressed air.
