Facilities Coordinator, Sacramento County & Fleet Management
Overview
Coordinate maintenance for all Salvation Army facilities across Sacramento County, covering buildings, officer quarters, and fleet vehicles. Oversee a team of maintenance and janitorial staff, manage vendor contracts, and ensure UpKeep software tracks all work orders. This role pairs facilities operations with fleet compliance, requiring 3-5 years in related fields and a California Class C license. You'll drive capital projects, budget compliance, and DOT-regulated vehicle safety across the command.
What You'll Do10
- 1Coordinate repair and upkeep of buildings and officer quarters, including HVAC, landscaping, irrigation, and general appearance.
- 2Supervise maintenance and janitorial staff through coaching, performance reviews, and scheduling.
- 3Process vendor and contractor invoices for HVAC, electrical, and security services per Salvation Army policy.
- 4Manage all TSAMM actions for facilities and present capital needs for budget approval.
- 5Keep Sacramento County Coordinator informed on facilities tasks and maintain UpKeep software records.
- 6Oversee the vehicle database and physical files for the Sacramento County Command fleet.
- 7Schedule preventative maintenance for all vehicles to ensure operational and legal status.
- 8Handle insurance requests, accident reporting, and vehicle purchases or sales across locations.
- 9Enforce DOT and THQ Fleet Safety Program compliance, including driver authorization and annual MVR checks.
- 10Conduct forklift operation and safety, maintaining forklift certification.
Requirements9
- 1AA Degree plus 3-5 years in facilities or fleet management, or high school diploma with 5+ years experience.
- 2Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher, plus Lotus Notes for email.
- 3Valid California Class C license and ability to drive a DOT-regulated Salvation Army vehicle.
- 4Completion of Salvation Army's Decision Driving course and enrollment in random drug testing program.
- 5Pass annual MVR and a behind-the-wheel road test, plus forklift certification.
- 6Ability to lift up to 30 lbs, with physical capacity for standing, bending, and climbing.
- 7Professional written and verbal communication skills for drafting reports and vendor correspondence.
- 8Strong organizational skills for multitasking, time management, and maintaining office systems.
- 9Ability to work with minimal supervision and handle confidential materials responsibly.
