What You'll Do11
- 1Design and deliver Manhood Development curriculum aligned with district goals and cultural backgrounds
- 2Facilitate seven program outcomes including lifelong learning and increased emotional intelligence
- 3Modify instructional resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and special needs
- 4Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with students parents and professionals
- 5Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment
- 6Model professional ethics and maintain cooperative relations with stakeholders
- 7Meet deadlines and coordinate responsibilities efficiently
- 8Mentor students beyond counseling services to supplement school support
- 9Identify and modify resources based on student needs and feedback
- 10Contribute to annual evaluations through performance and collaboration
- 11Support district initiatives to eliminate inequitable disciplinary practices
Requirements5
- 1Valid California Teaching Credential or pathway to obtain one
- 2Three years of experience mentoring African American male youth focusing on race or gender inequities
- 3Strong understanding of institutionalized racism affecting African American males
- 4Ability to teach anger management and productive communication strategies
- 5Commitment to culturally competent practices for African American male students
