EVS Technician, Housekeeping & Floor Care
Overview
You will own daily janitorial operations at Terwilliger Plaza, a 500+ resident community in downtown Portland, ensuring spotless floors, clean restrooms, and safe event setups. You will join a facilities team of 10+ staff, reporting to the EVS Manager, and work closely with residents to deliver quality service. What You'll Do10
- 1Clean floors and stairways by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, and vacuuming, using industrial vacuums and floor buffers, within the first 30 days.
- 2Empty trash and gather waste from all common areas and resident spaces, maintaining a hygienic environment daily.
- 3Service and restock restrooms, including disinfecting fixtures and replenishing supplies, to meet health standards.
- 4Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment, and polish furniture and fixtures to shine in hallways and lounges.
- 5Mix cleaning solutions and operate steam cleaners and carpet shampooers to deep clean carpets and upholstery.
- 6Strip, seal, finish, and polish hardwood and vinyl floors using auto-scrubbers and burnishers, ensuring a safe, glossy surface.
- 7Respond to off-the-hook and unlock requests from the front desk, providing quick resident support.
- 8Move furniture, equipment, and supplies manually or with hand trucks, and set up rooms for events, including audio-visual equipment.
- 9Notify managers of major repair needs and maintain logs of cleaning and maintenance activities.
- 10Follow chemical safety protocols and wear PPE when handling cleaning agents.
Requirements10
- 1High School Diploma or GED.
- 26+ months of related janitorial or housekeeping experience.
- 3Ability to operate floor buffers, carpet shampooers, and industrial vacuums.
- 4Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and hazard communication standards.
- 5Strong customer service skills and ability to interact positively with residents.
- 6Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 40 lbs.
- 7Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and climbing stairs for 8+ hours per shift.
- 8Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- 9Basic reading and writing skills for instructions and incident reports.
- 10Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
