Equities Trade Support Specialist - FIX & Trading Systems
Overview
Own FIX network connectivity and trading platform support for a major bank's equities desks. You'll work on-site 5 days a week in New York, collaborating with traders, middle office, and Compliance teams. This 6-month contract offers the potential to extend or convert to permanent. You'll directly impact trading stability by monitoring FIX sessions and resolving issues in real time.
What You'll Do8
- 1Monitor FIX network connectivity and trading platforms for equities traders, middle office, and Compliance teams.
- 2Diagnose and resolve FIX session breaks and message-level issues, minimizing trading downtime.
- 3Partner with traders and middle office to address application and market data problems during market hours.
- 4Escalate critical incidents to development and infrastructure teams, documenting root causes.
- 5Validate trade flow and order lifecycle events across FIX and proprietary systems.
- 6Support new client and venue onboarding by testing FIX connectivity and certifications.
- 7Create runbooks for recurring issues and improve monitoring dashboards.
- 8Collaborate with Compliance teams on audit trails and trade surveillance requests.
Requirements6
- 13+ years supporting equities trading systems or FIX protocol in a front-office environment.
- 2Hands-on experience with FIX protocol (session configuration, message parsing, and debugging).
- 3Knowledge of equities trade lifecycle (order entry, execution, allocation, and settlement).
- 4Familiarity with trading platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters) and order management systems.
- 5Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for real-time issue resolution.
- 6Ability to work on-site in New York 5 days a week; contract role with potential extension.
