Equipment Engineering Manager, Solar Manufacturing & Reliability
Overview
Owns the plant equipment engineering and maintenance program at scale, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment. Leads reliability strategies, preventive and predictive maintenance, and capital projects to maximize uptime and OEE. Teaches and mentors engineering talent while partnering with Operations, Quality, and Process Engineering to drive manufacturing excellence. This role differentiates by combining deep reliability engineering with cross-functional leadership in a high-tech solar manufacturing environment.
What You'll Do10
- 1Lead and develop equipment engineering and maintenance teams to improve reliability, capability, efficiency, and plant performance
- 2Establish and execute equipment reliability strategies, preventive maintenance programs, and predictive maintenance practices
- 3Manage full lifecycle of manufacturing equipment including specification, acquisition, installation, commissioning, maintenance, upgrades, and decommissioning
- 4Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions related to equipment failures, downtime, quality issues, and process disruptions
- 5Develop equipment standards, maintenance procedures, and change management processes to ensure safe and effective operation
- 6Analyze equipment performance metrics and implement initiatives to increase uptime, throughput, yield, and OEE
- 7Lead capital equipment projects including business case development, vendor selection, procurement, installation, startup, and closure
- 8Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventories, tooling expenditures, and contract services
- 9Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, engineering, and regulatory requirements
- 10Partner with manufacturing and engineering leaders to support new product introductions, technology transfers, process improvements, and capacity expansion projects
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
- 28-10 years of manufacturing experience with progressive engineering or maintenance leadership
- 3Minimum 2 years in second-level leadership
- 4Experience managing equipment engineering, reliability, maintenance, or manufacturing engineering organizations
- 5Certified Six Sigma Green Belt
- 6Experience leading capital equipment projects and cross-functional initiatives
- 7Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving skills
- 8Budget development and management experience
- 9Working knowledge of manufacturing excellence methodologies and reliability practices
- 10Strong communication, presentation, and leadership skills

$132 - $182k per year
