EPC Associate Attorney, Energy & Infrastructure
Overview
You will lead drafting, review, and negotiation of EPC agreements for large-scale domestic and international energy projects across conventional, renewable, and nuclear sectors. Collaborate with owners, developers, contractors, and lenders in sophisticated transactions. This role sits in a top-tier Am Law firm with a nationally recognized practice. You own deal-critical documents from day one, with direct mentorship from partners and exposure to multibillion-dollar projects.
What You'll Do8
- 1Draft, review, and negotiate EPC agreements for major energy and infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with client commercial goals.
- 2Prepare and negotiate O&M, procurement, supply, and other project agreements, driving terms that protect client interests.
- 3Advise clients on project development, construction, and execution phases, resolving legal and commercial issues as they arise.
- 4Represent owners, developers, contractors, and lenders in domestic and international transactions, managing risk across jurisdictions.
- 5Support renewable, oil and gas, and nuclear projects by structuring contracts that meet regulatory and financing requirements.
- 6Identify and mitigate commercial and legal risks throughout the project lifecycle, delivering practical solutions to complex problems.
- 7Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on project financing, development, and commercial transactions, integrating legal strategy with business objectives.
- 8Provide counsel on contract administration and project delivery strategies, helping clients execute projects on time and within budget.
Requirements7
- 1J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
- 2Active bar admission in the jurisdiction where you will practice.
- 32-7+ years of construction law experience, preferably in energy or infrastructure projects.
- 4Experience drafting and negotiating EPC, O&M, procurement, or other complex construction agreements.
- 5Experience with conventional oil and gas, renewable energy, nuclear energy, or large-scale infrastructure projects strongly preferred.
- 6Excellent drafting, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with outstanding written and verbal communication.
- 7Proven ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced transactional practice, managing multiple priorities.
