You will own daily cleaning and maintenance across patient rooms, restrooms, and common areas in the Hospice Residence at Mount Auburn Hospital, a Beth Israel Lahey Health facility. What You'll Do10
- 1Follow the work schedule to complete all daily and weekly cleaning tasks in assigned areas, meeting department standards.
- 2Clean and restock patient rooms, restrooms, bathrooms, and common areas thoroughly each shift.
- 3Assist with timely cleaning of discharged beds and ensure rooms are organized with correct chair count and patient guide at bedside.
- 4Empty laundry bags and move equipment between patient rooms and storage as needed.
- 5Mop floors using dry and damp methods, including edges and corners, and clean behind equipment.
- 6Dust low and high surfaces, including vents, to maintain a dust-free environment.
- 7Remove trash from assigned areas at start and end of shift.
- 8Spot wash walls and carpets, and polish stainless steel, brass, and other smooth surfaces per schedule.
- 9Maintain cleaning equipment in safe, clean condition and report any issues or unsafe conditions.
- 10Keep supply closets and carts organized and stocked to par level, and attend required in-services and meetings.
Requirements7
- 1Cleaning experience in a hospital or industrial setting, with sanitation principles and techniques preferred.
- 2Ability to read and write for understanding directions and completing logs.
- 3Interpersonal skills to interact courteously with patients, visitors, and all hospital staff.
- 4Attention to detail for the majority of the workday.
- 5Physical ability for walking, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, climbing, and lifting for about 95% of the shift.
- 6Willingness to work with potential exposure to infectious materials and cleaning solutions.
- 7Compliance with Beth Israel Lahey Health's flu vaccination requirement.
