Environmental Service Aide - Per Diem
Overview
This role owns hospital cleanliness and infection prevention across patient and non-patient areas at The Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. You will execute established cleaning schedules, handle hazardous waste, and operate floor machines to keep every space sanitary. What You'll Do7
- 1Execute cleaning duties per infection control guidelines and pre-set schedules, covering patient rooms, corridors, and public spaces.
- 2Segregate and dispose of hazardous waste streams following safety protocols.
- 3Service assigned areas using floor machines, buffers, and other equipment to maintain a spotless environment.
- 4Rearrange furniture and supplies to facilitate deep cleaning and safe patient movement.
- 5Document and report supply needs to ensure cleaning agents and tools stay stocked.
- 6Attend a minimum of eight unit or department meetings each year to coordinate care and safety updates.
- 7Maintain all assigned zones in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition at all times.
Requirements7
- 1High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 20-1 years of related environmental services experience preferred.
- 3Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe application methods.
- 4Working knowledge of vacuum cleaners and floor buffers.
- 5Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift, with frequent balancing and fine manipulation.
- 6Capability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 35+ lbs with assistive devices when needed.
- 7Comfort working onsite at 300 First Avenue, Boston, MA.
