Overview

You will own technical strategy for strategic enterprise accounts, partnering with sales to drive revenue through the entire technical sales cycle. You will engage with engineering teams, IT, and executives at companies building complex electronics, demonstrating how Altium's platform accelerates PCB design and collaboration. You will lead discovery, deliver demos, and design solutions that translate technical capabilities into measurable business outcomes. This role stands apart with direct influence on product roadmap through close collaboration with Product Management and exposure to top-tier electronics firms.

What You'll Do8

  • 1Build technical strategies for 5-10 strategic accounts, partnering with Sales Account Managers to map customer engineering processes to Altium solutions.
  • 2Lead discovery sessions with customer engineering, IT, and executive stakeholders to identify design environment challenges and business objectives.
  • 3Deliver live product demonstrations showcasing Altium 365 collaboration, PCB design workflows, and connected data management that show value.
  • 4Develop technical proposals, solution architectures, and implementation plans aligning Altium enterprise features with customer business goals.
  • 5Support RFP/RFI responses with technical content, solution recommendations, and competitive positioning against other PCB design platforms.
  • 6Provide post-sales technical guidance during evaluations and implementations, ensuring successful adoption of Altium solutions.
  • 7Conduct technical workshops and executive presentations that demonstrate best practices in PCB design and electronics development.
  • 8Channel customer requirements to Product Management and Engineering to influence future product direction and roadmap.

Requirements8

  • 15+ years in Field Applications Engineering, Sales Engineering, or Technical Pre-Sales for enterprise software.
  • 2Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • 3Strong knowledge of PCB design workflows, including schematic capture, layout, and component lifecycle management.
  • 4Hands-on experience with Altium Designer or comparable PCB design platforms.
  • 5Experience delivering technical demonstrations and workshops to engineering leaders and executives.
  • 6Deep understanding of enterprise software implementation, including PLM, PDM, and MCAD integration.
  • 7Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to design engineers, IT teams, and C-level stakeholders.
  • 8Willingness to travel up to 30% for customer onsite meetings and events.
