Overview
Mann Wireless seeks an Engineering Technologist to lead DAS and public-safety wireless projects from quoting through design testing and closeout. This entry-level role blends field operations with engineering design and offers hands-on learning early in the career.
What You'll Do15
- 1Develop project quotes estimates and proposals for DAS public safety wireless projects with sales and project management teams
- 2Manage internal IT tasks act as point of contact for engineering groups and office staff
- 3Create and maintain designs using iBwave including construction drawings equipment layouts and design submittals
- 4Perform on-site RF surveys pre- and post-installation to collect signal data and site conditions
- 5Conduct system testing commissioning and signal verification using PCTEL test equipment and other RF tools
- 6Prepare bills of materials and supporting design documentation
- 7Perform basic link budget calculations and coverage data analysis
- 8Assist with light construction and field installation tasks during initial training to understand DAS integration
- 9Travel to job sites to support field teams verify installations and troubleshoot design-related issues
- 10Communicate and coordinate with field teams to provide updated designs drawings and technical guidance
- 11Document field changes as-built conditions and site audit findings incorporate data back into design packages
- 12Ensure designs installations comply with codes standards and client specifications
- 13Support project documentation including design submittals and closeout packages
- 14Participate in team meetings and project reviews communicating status risks and technical requirements
- 15Handle other duties as assigned with increasing responsibility for design testing and field coordination
Requirements13
- 1Associates or Bachelor degrees in Electrical Engineering Engineering Technology Telecommunications or related field preferred with relevant experience or military background accepted
- 20-2 years of experience in RF telecom IT or related technical fields internship or hands-on project experience is a plus
- 3IT experience or aptitude desired to manage IT-related tasks alongside engineering duties
- 4Basic understanding of RF theory wireless communications and DAS/in-building wireless concepts or ability to learn quickly
- 5Familiarity or willingness to learn iBwave design platform
- 6Familiarity or willingness to learn RF test equipment such as PCTEL survey/test tools spectrum analyzers or similar
- 7Comfortable with light construction/field work assisting technicians with installation tasks during onboarding and periodically thereafter
- 8Strong computer skills including MS Office CAD Visio or Bluebeam
- 9Strong attention to detail organizational skills and willingness to learn
- 10Excellent written and verbal communication abilities to convey technical information to field and office teams
- 11Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings construction documents and specifications or aptitude to learn
- 12Dependable transportation with valid driver’s license clear driving record ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in active field environments
- 13Travel capability including occasional overnight trips as required
