GRAIL seeks an Engineer Operational Excellence to drive continuous improvement in sequencing-based cancer screening. This onsite role in Durham NC focuses on data process and operations to boost efficiency quality and scalability. The ideal candidate blends data savvy with Lean expertise to solve complex operational challenges.
What You'll Do11
- 1Operational Data & Reporting Support generation and automation of KPI reporting ensuring data integrity and usability
- 2Collaborate with stakeholders to refine metrics and improve visibility into operational performance
- 3Perform data exploration and statistical analysis to identify trends variation and potential process deviations
- 4Apply Statistical Process Control and Quality Control methods to monitor and improve process stability
- 5Execute and support Lean initiatives including 5S Kaizen events and Six Sigma projects
- 6Partner with operations teams to pilot measure and scale process improvements
- 7Support issue tracking and prioritization capturing operational issues risks and improvement opportunities
- 8Document operational issues risks and improvement opportunities
- 9Lead prioritization of improvement efforts in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders
- 10Work across office production and executive settings exposure to manufacturing environments
- 11Maintain PPE usage safety glasses gloves hearing protection in designated areas
Requirements9
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Life Sciences Industrial Engineering or related field
- 23+ years of experience in process engineering operations or continuous improvement roles preferably in biotech diagnostics or manufacturing
- 3Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and Kaizen methodologies certification a plus
- 4Experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel SQL Python Tableau Power BI
- 5Familiarity with SPC QC tools and statistical analysis techniques
- 6Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and data accuracy
- 7Effective communicator capable of collaborating across teams
- 8Physical demands including exposure to noise chemicals and production equipment
- 9Ability to work extended or flexible hours to meet organizational goals
