We seek a Data Engineer/System Analyst to design and support data workflows at Gilead Sciences. You will own end‑to‑end data pipelines, collaborate with scientists, and deliver scalable solutions that accelerate research. What You'll Do11
- 1Lead requirement gathering and analysis to define data workflows supporting 75% of operations and 25% scripting tasks
- 2Configure and develop applications using Agile practices while ensuring system stability and performance
- 3Create testing scripts and comprehensive documentation for user support and knowledge transfer
- 4Partner with research scientists to diagnose system issues and improve application usability
- 5Translate complex technical concepts into clear communication for cross‑functional teams
- 6Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet strict deadlines
- 7Analyze business processes to identify inefficiencies and propose automation improvements
- 8Develop and maintain technical documentation at program and user levels
- 9Coordinate with IT partners to enhance solutions that reduce operational time and boost efficiency
- 10Drive continuous learning to master new tools and methodologies relevant to data engineering
- 11Support deployment and refinement of applications aligned with business objectives
Requirements5
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 2Strong SQL proficiency and experience in scripting and application development
- 3Ability to lead Agile development environments and produce clear technical documentation
- 4Experience in collaborative problem solving with scientists and technical teams
- 5Demonstrated judgment within defined guidelines and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
Salary Insight
$102 - $132k per year
