What You'll Do5
- 1Build and sterilize endoscopic equipment according to protocols to ensure patient safety and infection control
- 2Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures by handling instruments and monitoring equipment to support procedural success
- 3Prepare patients for procedures by explaining processes, positioning, and monitoring vital signs as needed
- 4Maintain accurate records of procedures, equipment maintenance, and patient information in compliance with healthcare regulations
- 5Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to ensure efficient scheduling, room setup, and post-procedure care
Requirements10
- 1High school diploma or equivalent
- 2Completion of an accredited Endoscopy Technician training program or equivalent clinical experience
- 3Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- 4Familiarity with medical terminology and standard infection control practices
- 5Preferred: Associate degree in a health-related field
- 6Preferred: Certification as an Endoscopy Technician (e.g., CET) or willingness to obtain certification within a specified timeframe
- 7Preferred: Experience in hospital or outpatient endoscopy setting
- 8Preferred: Advanced certifications such as CGRN or similar
- 9Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- 10Strong communication skills and experience in patient education
