Overview

This role owns the accuracy of electronic toll revenue for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority's bridges and tunnels, reconciling over 300 million annual crossings. You will drive end-to-end reconciliation across the Central Business District Tolling Program (CBDTP) and Open Road Tolling (ORT), working with Transcore, RAAS, and Conduent systems daily. You will join the Tolling Management team at 2 Broadway, collaborating with ITS, Finance, and Treasury to resolve discrepancies and support audits. What You'll Do10

  • 1Build daily, monthly, and quarterly reconciliation processes for electronic toll transactions across CBDTP and ORT environments.
  • 2Reconcile transaction-level data between Transcore, RAAS, Conduent, and MTA financial reporting systems.
  • 3Identify, research, and resolve unreconciled transactions, variances, and revenue discrepancies in Excel and SQL.
  • 4Investigate transaction lifecycle issues, find root causes of processing exceptions, and recommend corrective actions for tag reads, image-based transactions, and rejected records.
  • 5Support inter-agency reciprocity settlement validation and reporting to ensure accurate toll revenue allocation between MTA and E-ZPass partner agencies.
  • 6Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for internal and external audits, maintaining audit-ready files.
  • 7Drive internal control compliance and revenue assurance framework requirements.
  • 8Collaborate with ITS, Toll Operations, Finance, and Treasury to resolve system and data issues.
  • 9Support testing and validation for system upgrades, cutovers, and reporting enhancements impacting toll revenue operations.
  • 10Review contractor invoices and approve them when work meets contractual standards, escalating issues as needed.

Requirements10

  • 13+ years of progressively responsible experience in electronic toll collection, transportation operations, financial reconciliation, revenue accounting, business analytics, or related field.
  • 2Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Finance, Accounting, or related field; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
  • 3Experience working with large datasets and performing complex reconciliations.
  • 4Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis functions.
  • 5Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines.
  • 6Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • 7Preferred: advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • 8Preferred: knowledge of accounting principles and financial reconciliation methodologies.
  • 9Preferred: experience with reporting tools like Oracle BI, Power BI, Tableau, or SQL.
  • 10Preferred: experience in tolling, transportation, or public-sector operations.
