Electrical Reverse Engineer, RF & Embedded Systems
Overview
You will own the reverse engineering of state-of-the-art sensing electronics, dissecting circuitry to component level for intelligence applications. Your work supports TechINT's unique methodology for identifying illicit technology use. You'll join a team of engineers at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD, collaborating on RF, embedded systems, and communications. This role stands out for its direct impact on national security and access to cutting-edge technology.
What You'll Do8
- 1Dissect state-of-the-art sensing electronics to component level, documenting findings in technical reports.
- 2Develop manufacturing processes for reverse-engineered products, ensuring seamless introduction.
- 3Apply new technologies in communication, researching and evaluating advancements for integration.
- 4Manage applications from research through deployment, including testing, debugging, and performance validation.
- 5Analyze circuitry using schematic capture and layout tools like Altium, focusing on RF simulation.
- 6Extract firmware via SPI interfaces and Arduino integration, documenting embedded system behavior.
- 7Evaluate transmitter and receiver designs, including spread spectrum technologies like OFDM, WCDMA, and LoRa.
- 8Build predictive models for RF circuitry and network analysis, ensuring reliable performance in field conditions.
Requirements10
- 1Active Secret security clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI.
- 2Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar field.
- 3Proven ability to analyze and dissect circuitry to component level, producing technical reports.
- 4Knowledge of transmitter and receiver designs, including modern modulation formats.
- 5Experience with spread spectrum technologies like OFDM, WCDMA, and LoRa.
- 6Schematic analysis, capture, and layout experience, with Altium preferred.
- 7RF circuitry simulation and network analysis skills, including predictive modeling.
- 8Working knowledge of antennas and their implementation on transmitters and receivers.
- 9Experience with Arduino integration and firmware extraction via SPI interface.
- 10Some experience in assembly language, C/C++, MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python, and basic scripting.
