Electrical Engineer States Manufacturing Minneapolis Minnesota
Overview
Design electrical control systems for safe efficient and effective operation of Forgent products and processes while meeting quality and production standards. This entry-level role involves drafting schematics bills of materials and supporting documentation under supervision. Work on well-defined tasks within an Engineer-to-Order environment. The position offers onsite work with occasional travel and benefits including PTO weekly vision dental and 401k.
What You'll Do11
- 1Develop and draft electrical schematics one-lines three-lines wire lists BOMs and supporting documentation under direction and review from senior engineers
- 2Review and interpret customer specifications and sales agreements with mentor guidance to create designs
- 3Learn and apply AutoCAD Electrical tools and libraries requiring functional competency before independent deliverables
- 4Develop working knowledge of UL standards and NEC requirements actively building competency
- 5Comply with codes and specifications to ensure workflow remains on schedule and budget
- 6Evaluate and select electrical components for control systems switchgear panelboards and control panels with guidance
- 7Participate in cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing design and quality problems
- 8Attend training and review documentation to grow technical competencies
- 9Support new product development by staying current with industry products technologies and trends
- 10Maintain strong relationships with suppliers manufacturers and vendors
- 11Provide onsite technical field support with up to 10% local travel and occasional domestic trips
Requirements9
- 1BS in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline with coursework in electrical power systems
- 20-2 years of engineering or technical experience including internships or co-ops
- 3Functional proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical before independent deliverables
- 4Exposure to renewables emerging energy markets data centers battery storage or EV charging stations
- 5Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills and ability to solve complex problems through collaboration
- 6Experience with Microsoft Office applications
- 7Knowledge of UL 891 UL 1558 and UL 508A standards and NEC requirements actively building
- 8Ability to learn electrical test equipment for LV and MV products
- 9On-site work in Minneapolis Minnesota with occasional travel
