Overview
Design and implement electrical systems for commercial projects across diverse sectors. Own electrical permit and construction drawings while delivering single line drawings for utility and AHJ approval. Lead teams in industrial facilities data centers hospitals offices and educational institutions.
What You'll Do12
- 1Perform professional electrical engineering work including single line three line wiring diagrams general arrangement and equipment layout
- 2Develop load calculations equipment sizing feeder voltage drop grounding lighting controls facility service and power distribution
- 3Create schematic designs from limited information supporting design build initiatives
- 4Conduct arc flash short circuit and coordination studies
- 5Perform Neher-McGrath calculations for cable temperature rise and current carrying capacity
- 6Design projects per code best practices and stakeholder requirements
- 7Prepare installation details single line diagrams schedules and calculations for approvals
- 8Conduct site surveys assess field conditions and electrical infrastructure
- 9Produce shop drawings and details for installation personnel
- 10Develop AutoCAD layouts based on existing conditions codes and client needs
- 11Collaborate with managers engineers and field leaders to supply installation information
- 12Capture record drawings update shop drawings based on markups and visits
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor's degree electrical engineering or related field
- 2Professional Engineering license preferred
- 33+ years commercial electrical construction design experience
- 4Strong NEC and Chicago Electrical Code knowledge
- 5NAPCEP certification preferred
- 6Proficiency AutoCAD Revit Bluebeam SKM PowerTools
- 7Intermediate MS Office skills
- 8High attention to detail
