Electrical Engineer 1 (Entry-Level) - Nuclear
Overview
Design and modernize critical electrical systems for nuclear plants and SMRs. Support plant life extension and digital upgrades. Work with a project team under senior engineers. Contribute to safer efficient reliable nuclear energy.
What You'll Do11
- 1Assist in engineering calculations for large nuclear power stations including protection and coordination studies
- 2Utilize ETAP for power systems analysis and modeling
- 3Design and integrate major electrical equipment such as switchgear MCCs transformers breakers relays
- 4Translate engineering concepts into detailed drawings
- 5Participate in site walkdowns and coordinate with clients
- 6Access station-specific documentation to build expertise in design and licensing
- 7Obtain qualifications to prepare critical project documentation
- 8Use automation and AI tools to improve workflows and solve engineering problems
- 9Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on technical reviews
- 10Gain experience in power analysis and design checks
- 11Support project deliverables through effective time management
Requirements11
- 1Bachelor's or Master's of Science in Electrical Engineering
- 2Understanding of electrical power concepts and power systems analysis
- 3Proficiency with MS Office applications
- 4Strong written and verbal communication skills
- 5Problem-solving abilities with experience in power analysis software
- 6Successful completion of FE exam and Engineer in Training designation
- 7Internship or work experience in power analysis preferred
- 8Experience with transient analysis using ETAP or SKM
- 9Ability to learn nuclear power systems and standards
- 10Willingness to use AI and automation tools for engineering tasks
- 11Commitment to continuous professional development
